What is PT-141 (Bremelanotide)?

PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a synthetic peptide developed from Melanotan 2. PT-141 is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction or impotence in men and HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder) in women. PT-141 is a peptide that was originally developed as a sunless tanning agent. It is a melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) that affects sexual arousal, aiding enhanced libido levels and penile erections. Unlike all PDES inhibitors, PT-141 does not target the vascular system. Instead, it acts on the nervous system via activation of neurons in the hypothalamus to increase sexual desire. Benefits may include:

Beneficial for low libido (male & female)

Beneficial for ED (erectile dysfunction)
Helps enhance sexual satisfaction
Skin pigmentation (sunless tanning agent)

Bremelanotide currently has no contraindications and is 80% effective in people who don’t respond to Viagra or Cialis. It was developed for aphrodisiac effects. It works at the levels of the brain, thus eliciting a rather natural sexual response. It can be administered as an inject subcutaneously or as a sublingual tablet (mela under the tongue or inside cheek). Rapid onset of arousal is within minutes. Bremelanotide is also used to treat low sexual desire in women who have not gone through menopause and have not had low sexual desire in the past.

Common side effects include nausea, darkening of skin pigment, stretching, and yawning.

Administration: PT-141 is given as an injection subcutaneously in the abdomen, or it can be given sublingually under the tongue..

How Quick does it Work & How Long does it last?

PT-141 has an onset of a few minutes for some people, and can take longer for others. Your dosage may need to be adjusted by your provider.

This price is not high compared to the cost of P shot ($1500 per session), which may include more than one session. I usually recommend PT-141 for my patients before the P shot, if they have no contraindications.

What is Tadalafil & Sildenafil?

Tadalafil or Sildenafil dilates blood vessels allowing more blood to enter and fill the corpora cavernosa in the penis.

Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase (PDE) class 5 inhibitor. Medications in this class are used to treat erectile dysfunction, pulmonary artery hypertension, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), or the concurrent treatment of erectile dysfunction and BPH.

Tadalafil (generic for Cialis) is a lower-cost option for Cialis that contains the same active ingredients. It works exactly the same way as the brand-name medication in your body. In contrast to other oral ED medications, tadalafil provides a convenient treatment option. This medication typically last in your system for up to 72 hours.

Sildenafil (generic for Viagra) works in the same way as Cialis.

Oxytocin:

Oxytocin heightens that warm and fuzzy bonding feeling, increasing sexual receptiveness and intimacy. Considered by many to be the key lubricant in the machinery of sex, oxytocin also increases the desire to be touched further, reinforcing the cycle of sex hormone escalation.

Research has shown the release of oxytocin can be classically conditioned, after repeatedly having sex with the same partner, just seeing that partner could release more oxytocin, making you want to be with that person all the more.
