We start all of our supplement post by stating we do not claim to know all the risk or benefits of these products. We make no claim these products will cure any disease or problem you may have. We just like to give our opinion on things we have tried, and let you know if it helped us out not. This includes our own line of products, so as always consult your provider before trying any Supplement.
So now that we have stated this we want to give you another post on CBD.
Why another post on CBD, well because it’s an unknown unknown type of supplement. There are people who swear by CBD (good), and there are people who think it’s just hogwash (garbage). We are going to give you some information on CBD, give you a link, and allow you to make your own decision.
Before we begin here is a link to our first post on CBD vs Hemp Seed
First of all CBD is an abbreviation of cannabidiol (yes I had to Google how to spell that), so you can see why they abbreviated it.
CBD is the second most prevalent ingredient in marijuana (weed). Unlike THC the most prevalent ingredient in marijuana it does not get you high. CBD can come from the marijuana plant or the hemp plant. “CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”, according to the World Health Organization.
Is it legal?
Well sort of. It is legal in all 50 states, but at a federal level it is illegal. (Yea I know makes no sense). It is illegal if the CBD comes from the marijuana plant instead of the hemp plant. CBD coming from a hemp plant will have less than 0.3% THC (THC is the thing that gets you “high”). You can buy CBD online or in stores as long as the CBD comes from hemp plants and has less than 0.3% THC.
What are the health benefits?
Well CBD has claims it:
May help with Pain and inflammation
May help Sleep
May help Anxiety and Depression
May help Alleviate Cancer related symptoms
May help Acne
May help epilepsy (seizure)
May help multiple sclerosis
You may notice we have a lot of Mays, well that’s because tests are still being ran to determine if any of these claims are true. It may be years before we know if CBD works, but that hasn’t stopped some people from using it. A recent study showed 33% of Americans have used CBD before.
What are the side effects?
The side effects include:
Changes in appetite
Changes in mood
CBD could increase liver enzymes
Should you try it?
Well you should talk to your provider before taking any supplement including things we sell or recommend. You need to talk to your provider and weigh your options.
Some people think its GOOD and some people think its GARBAGE.
We give it the GOOD rating, but that is are individual rating.
