Finding “The Fountain of Youth”! What supplements & medications you need.

What is Growth Hormone?

Growth Hormone is known as the master hormone because it plays a role in many body functions throughout the body. Growth Hormone is abundant when we are young, and declines as we age.

Growth Hormone is released while we sleep. This is why most medications or supplements that are given, are given right before bed.

Our goal at Man of Health is to optimize your growth hormone levels. We do this by stimulating the pituitary to increase growth hormone. Our aim is to raise the level of the “Fountain of Youth”.

What are the benefits of improving your Growth hormone levels?

Decrease Body Fat
Increase energy levels
Build bigger muscles
Increase libido & performance
Build strong bones
Improve appearance, reduce wrinkles
Improve sleep
Improve mental sharpness

How is it measured?

Growth hormone is measured by IGF-1 (insulin growth factor), this measures how much growth hormone is being produced in the liver and peripheral tissue. IGF-1 levels are usually checked in a patient taking IGF or somatotropin/HGH (human growth hormone). In these medications IGF-1 needs to be checked, because these medications by-pass your bodies automatic switch to stop excess growth hormone from being produced.

*The supplements and medications (Tri-Amino, Sermorelin, and Ibutamoren) we offer do not bypass this mechanism, so we tend to not check IGF-1 levels on every patient.

Man of Health’s : HEALTH GAMEPLAN TO RAISE GROWTH HORMONE LEVELS

*Talk to your health care provider before taking any medications or supplements*

One thing we can do is take key supplements. We will discuss a few supplement we recommend to help stimulate your body’s own production of growth hormone.

MELATONIN

Melatonin is a hormone our body naturally produces as we sleep. I tell everyone think of melatonin as the “cool down”. Melatonin slows the body down and helps you prepare for sleep. The typical dosage for melatonin is 1-5 mg taken 30 min before bed. We recommend taking a low dosage and seeing what works for you.

CREATINE

Some research has shown creatine increases growth hormone. Creatine has other benefits which include: supplying energy to muscles, it may prevent growth hormone declines as we age,

Creatine isn’t recommended for people with kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes.

AMINO ACIDS

Amino acids: are the building blocks that make up protein. There are a lot of amino acids the main ones we will focus on are; arginine, lysine, and ornithine. These specific amino acids stimulate growth hormone.

Arginine and ornithine can stimulate latent herpes, so anyone with herpes of any kind should avoid these amino acids. These amino acids have to be taken in a high dose if taken orally, but taking a high dosage orally can come with gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea). Oral arginine and ornithine tend to work better in younger adults.

For this reason our clinic suggests injectable forms of these medications. It’s more convenient and has less side effects.

*Some research shows that’s arginine does not improve growth hormone*

Stacking is a form of taking supplements together to get the best results. We will give you some Man of Health Recommendations. Always consult with your health care provider before starting any type of supplement plan.

Our Supplement Recommendations

1-2 grams of arginine
1-2 grams of ornithine
1 gram of lysine
1 gram of glutamine

Take on an empty stomach nightly

Or

1 injection of TRI Amino per week + 1 gram of glutamine nightly

SERMORELIN

Sermorelin is an injectable medication that improves your growth hormone levels. It causes the pituitary gland to increase growth hormone levels in the body safely. This medication is given subcutaneously nightly or 5 out of 7 nights.
This medication requires a prescription. We offer this medication. Click this link to learn more.

IBUTAMOREN

Ibutamoren is an oral growth hormone medication. It works by stopping the medication that slows down growth hormone production (somatostatin)

Ibutamoren can cause an increase in blood glucose. It also can cause an increase appetite. This medication is great for my guys and women who want to add some muscle. It also helps older adults who are high risk for fractures.
